WHY ELECTRIFIED FENCING?

Electric fences work by sending a high-voltage electrical pulse around a multi-wire perimeter electric fence. The power involved can reach up to 10,000 volts, and the current is limited to a safe SABS approved level.

Electrified fencing was originally developed in New Zealand for the primary use of farm animal movement and containment. Later the Security Industry improved on this technology developing a multi-strand wiring system fitted on to insulators and powered by an energizer to create intermittent electronic pulses through the wires. When touched it can deliver a substantial and most uncomfortable shock delivering up to 10,000 volts and sending criminals well on their way!

When an intruder either touches a live wire or cuts any wire on a Peri Secure electric fence , this will result in the alarm triggering. Electric fencing not only offers effective protection for your property but it is also a psychological & physical deterrent.

False alarms are virtually non-existent, as the fence will only go into alarm when a concerted effort is made to break the perimeter security. This security system has proven to be very effective, and in some cases can replace the services of security guards that need to monitor your premises. These systems also offer scalable solutions, with a variable number of zones being monitored and this is ideal for homeowners and business owners throughout South Africa.

Electric fences, DETER and DETECT.

This is a very effective way of deterring potential intruders, which is why it is used throughout with great success. The fence is also connected to an alarm, which will go off when the system is breached, which is an added security feature.

The electric fence can be linked to your existing security service provider i.e. ADT, Chubb etc. The fence alarm will deter the person from entering the premises, as it serves as an early warning device if the wires are cut or shorted.

Safety & power cuts:

Electric fences are non lethal. Our electrical fence energisers come standard with a backup battery which has a life of between 6-8 hours in the event of a power cut. Electric fencing is also cost effective as it runs on about R60 per month.
